Beautiful Walkway

This morning I decided to get out of the house and go for a walk. Too much time spent sitting behind the computer, studying for licensing renewals and new certifications, while avoiding the heat, was getting me down. I needed some sunshine – even if it came with 3 digit temperatures! Guess its been a while since I’ve walked around my block because I was very surprised to come upon this cool looking gate just north of Victory Blvd. on Corbin. I felt like I just discovered the Secret Garden! There was beautifully zeriscaped plants and solar powered lights and a lovely paved bike path!  I couldn’t resist, I had to explore…

One of the nurseries in the area has a dinosaur guarding the premises.  Good thing he’s on a leash!

Sherman Way Palm Tree

Looking west on Sherman Way near Wilbur Ave. Its all about the palm trees for me. Standing so straight and tall, all in a row, they seem to collapse into one, tall, feathery thing.  Not Thing 1 or Thing 2 but maybe Thing π?

Cactus Flowers

Looked up after parking my car on a side street and saw these towering cacti in bloom! Sometimes it pays to look up.

Here is a close-up of one of the cactus flowers.
